Welcome to the November 2010 Newsletter!
New members include Barbara Trowbridge (Johnstown), Simon Lawler (Fort
Collins, Otterbox), Aleesa Whiteis (Fort Collins, Mary Kay), and Demi
Cross (Cheyenne, Cross Ranch). Welcome! We look forward to getting to
know you.
Renewing members this month include Sue Fody (Loveland, The Trizetto
Group), Andrea DiMatteo (Fort Collins, New Belgium Brewing), and Eileen
McCluskey (Greeley, High Plains Library District). Thank you for
renewing! We appreciate your continuing support.
This week in the President’s Corner you can read about the results of
our fall survey. Thanks to the 36 of you who contributed and to Robbi
Lynn, VP of Programs, for organizing it and writing up the results!! We
value your input and will use it at our upcoming annual planning meeting
to decide on programs, direction, and priorities for next year. Aleesa
Whiteis was the winner of the drawing for a free annual membership for
completing the survey. Congratulations Aleesa!
Speaking of planning for 2011 and beyond, we invite you to join us for
our annual planning session on December 13th from 4-8 pm at
Dave Vance’s house in Windsor. Just let him know if you would like to
attend (jansunsnow@aol.com).
If it is budget time in your organization and if the budget allows, now
is the time to make a pitch for including some funds for 1) ASTD
national membership (only $199), and 2) to attend the ASTD TechKnowledge
Conference (February 2-4 in San Jose) or ASTD International Conference
and Exposition (May 22-25 in Orlando). Also, it is likely more
certificate programs will be held in Denver like those we had in August
and September. And if none of these is possible, keep in mind that the
ASTD International Conference will be held in Denver in 2012!

2010 Program Survey Results and the Tentative Plan for 2011 Programs
Based on this feedback, the board will consider the following program strategy at our December 13th annual planning meeting: 1. Continue to provide networking opportunities since is one of the primary reasons people become members. At least 3 meetings will be dedicated to networking. 2. Schedule most meetings at lunch time, followed by breakfast, and possibly 1 dinner / after hours meeting. 3. Focus on the highest demand program preferences as speakers are available.
Your feedback and the resulting programming strategy are reflected in our tentative 2011 calendar below:
Last, but not least, Congratulations to Aleesa Whiteis for being our drawing winner. Aleesa won a free 1 year membership to the ASTD Northern Rockies Chapter. | ||||
