About the Presentation:
Jim Morris and his colleagues have developed a competency model that is universally applicable for the identification, development and coaching of successors and aspiring leaders.  This presentation will cover two subject areas:

1. Practical, hands-on approaches to develop and coach aspiring leaders
2. Suggestions for OD practitioners to develop, refine and improve succession practices

About the Presenter:Image
Jim Morris is  the Senior Partner of Bristlecone Learning, a boutique consulting and training company that focuses on socially responsible leadership development, succession and emotional intelligence with offices in Raleigh and Colorado. His firm works with leaders and their teams in a wide variety of businesses in everything from Biotechnology to Commercial Construction.

Jim is also adjunct faculty for Duke Leadership and Performance Group – part of the continuing education program for executives at Duke University. He just completed  a book, his first, on the leadership succession crisis in business called The Five Insights, which provides the basis for his presentation.  Jim Morris also serves as the Chairman for the Experiential Training and Development Alliance, a consortium of consulting and training businesses that work to improve the quality, efficacy and understanding of experiential training as a method for organiztional transformation.  His community and civic involvement include board memberships with the Pagosa Springs Arts Alliance in his home in Pagosa Springs, and serving on the National Board of Outward Bound - Discovery.
